My Journey Into Practice
In my 40’s I found myself an unexpected widow, unemployed and unsure of what was next. As a way to find myself and my body I joined a kickboxing gym where I dedicated most days to sweat, punching and a whole lot of cardio!
That December the owner decided to take the entire month off for the Holidays and I was stuck without a routine or community and was in search of something to compliment my kickboxing love. A yoga studio had just opened and a friend of mine suggested we add this studio into our routine and work. The first day I walked into the studio, the joy and welcoming was overwhelming. To be a grown adult and to be seen for the first time was like a cool balm to a deep burn. I wanted nothing more than to come back, move, breathe and feel. And I did, the whole month of December and created friendships with others, myself, my mind, and most importantly my body and I haven’t stopped since. Always curious, always learning, always loving….
